RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SEAL BEACH APPROVING PLAN REVIEW APPLICATION
NO. PR-1-65, SITE AND DEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR A
VETERINARY CLINIC AT 233 BAY BOULEVARD.
WHEREAS, in the matter of request for approval of a preliminary site and
development plan for a Veterinary Clinic (Application NO. PR-1-65), the Planning
Commission of the City of Seal Beach does report as follows:
1. Subject case was initiated by Dr. Robert J. Day V.M.D., 101 Main St., Seal
Beach, Calif. Telephone 430-4451.
2. Subject site and development plan is for Lots 33, 35, 37, Block 218, Tract
No. 10, City of Seal Beach, which is located 233, 235, 237 Bay Boulevard.
3. Subject plan indicates proposed size and location of buildings and number and
arrangement of parking spaces and location of access.
4. The proposed veterinary clinic location is in the C-l Zone.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission findings are as follows:
1. The proposed clinic is a proper use in the C-l Zone as determined by
Resolution No. 22.
2. The site plan as presented indicates that the proposed development meets
all requirements of the Seal Beach zoning ordinance.
3. NO written protests have been received. Oral communication is in the nature
of discussion with no basic objections to this proposed use. Four written
communications have been received supporting the applicants proposed use of
this property. Three of the persons supporting the use are presently neighbors
of the applicants existing clinic and they indicate that his use has been very
compatible with both residential and commercial uses surrounding it and is a
definite asset to the neighborhood and the community. The fourth letter support-
ing this application is from the Seal Beach First Baptist Church which is
located immediately adjacent to the proposed use.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission of the City of Seal
Beach does hereby approve Plan Review Application No. PR-1-65, subject to the
following conditions:
1. That no animals be kept on the property over night except in case of ~mergency
and in such emergency cases shall not exceed six (6) animals at anyone time.
2. That all animals be confined within the veterinary clinic building and that no
animals be kept in kennels or outside animal houses.
Note: The conditions listed above are those found in Resolution No. 22 which
determined the proper zone for location of veterinary clinics.
