HomeMy WebLinkAboutPC Res 34 - 1965-06-16 . . . . e . ' RESOLUTION NO. 34 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH APPROVING VARIANCE APPLICATION NO. V-9-65 TO CONSTRUCT AN APARTMENT BUILDING AT 1201-1203 OCEAN AVENUE WITH REDUCED SIDEYARD REQUIREMENTS. WHEREAS, in the matter of the Variance Application No. V-9-65, the Planning Commission of the City of Seal Beach does report as follows: 1. Subject case was initiated by L. L. Buck, 3710 Myrtle Ave., Long Beach, as agent for James W. Dunn, Jr., 1700 S. 2nd St., Arcadia. 2. Subject proposal is to contract an apartment building on Lots 1 & 2, Block 12, Bay City Tract, which is 1201-1203 Ocean Avenue. Permission requested to construct with substandard sideyard along one side of the building. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission findings are as follows: 1. The sideyard width required for a yard abutting a street is 7!6" (being 15% of lot width of 50'). 2. The requested reduction is as follows: 7' sideyard on the side abutting 12 th Street. All other yards to conform to the requirements of the ordinance. 3. The proposed reduction to 7 feet along the street side is for the purpose of providing 4 off-street parking spaces (in enclosed garage) at the rear al,ley location. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT the Planning Commission of the City of Seal Beach does hereby approve Variance Application No. V-9-65 to allow construction of an apartment building on Lots 1 & 2, Block 12, Bay City Tract, 1201-1203 Ocean Avenu~, with substandard side yard abutting 12th Street, as indicated above, with the condition that Mr. Dunn is legal owner at the close of escrow and tbat construction is begun within six months of this date. ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 16th day of June, 1965.
