WHEREAS, in the matter of the filing with the Commission of Plan Review ApplicatiODs the Planning Commission of the City of Seal Beach does report as follows: 1. It has become common practice for applicants for Plan Review to submit their plans directly at commission meetings or within one or two days prior to meetings. 2. The normal lead time required for submission of applications for variance, use permits, etc. is 13 to 20 days, depending upon the type of legal public notice required. 3. The Planning Commission meets in regular session on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays, thus providing quite reasonable service to applicants. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission findings are as follows: Plan Review applications submitted too close to the time of commission meetings do not provide sufficient opportunity for the staff or the commission to adequately investigate the circumstances, thus possibly resulting in ill-advised decisions. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission of the City of Seal Beach does henceforth require that Plan Review applications must be submitted to the Secretary of the Commission at least 5 days prior to the date of a commission meeting in order to appear on the agenda of the meeting and receive consideration by the Commission. ADOPTED AND APPROV~D this 15th day of a rma 0 t e ann I hereby certify that the foregoing resol~tio was duly adopted at a regular meeting of the Planning Commission of the City of Seal Beach which was held on September.
