RESOLUTION NO. 85 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH REPORTING TO THE CITY COUNCIL CONCERNING VARIANCE APPLICATION NO. V-8-66 (PARKING, NORMAN E. DALBEY). WHEREAS, in the matter of Variance Application No. V-8-66, the Planning Commission of the City of Seal Beach does report as follows: 1. Subject variance was previously denied by the Planning Commission by Resolution No. 79. 2. The Planning Commission's decision on subject variance was appealed to the City Council. The City Council has returned the variance to the Planning Commission for a further report with indication that the council is in favor of granting the variance request. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission's findings are as follows: 1. It is apparent that it is often difficult for a property owner to provide the required two covered parking spaces for a single-family use on some of the extremely small lots in this pa~ticular R-2 neighborhood while two-family uses in the same neighborhood require only one covered parking space per ~. . 2. It is unlikelY that many new single-family uses will be developed in this neighborhood and zone in the future, therefore, this problem should not occur too frequently. Therefore, solution of such problems by variance seems preferable rather than by change in the overall district regulations. 3. Granting of this variance will establish a precedent within this immediate neighborhood and will guide future Commission decisions. However, in consideration of finding No. 2 above, this should be an acceptable approach to the problem. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission of the City of Seal Beach does hereby recommend to the City Council the approval of variance No. V-8-66. ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 7th day of September, 1966. I of the I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted at a regular meeting of the Planning Commission of the City of Seal Beach which was held on September 7, 1966, and carried by the following vote: .
