RESOLUTION NO. 98
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH APPROVING VARIANCE
APPLICATION NO. V-14-66 FOR REDUCTION IN
SIDE YARD ABUTTING ALLEY AND SUBSTANDARD
GARAGE (GUEST)
WHEREAS, in the matter of Variance No. V-14-66, the Planning Commission of the
City of Seal Beach does report as follows:
1. Subject case was initiated by John H. Guest, 1025 Fathom Ave., Seal Beach.
2. Supject property is described as Lot 11, Block 11, Bay City Tract. Street
address is III 12th St., Seal Beach.
3. Subject proposal is for a 3 foot sideyard setback on the side abutting the
alley to allow sufficient width for construction of double garage. In
addition, request for 19 foot and 19'6" lengths for garages in lieu of
required 20 foot length.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission findings are as follows:
1. The proposed reduction in sideyard abutting the alley is necessary to be
physically possible to construct a double garage on a 25 foot lot.
2. The substandard garage length is of sufficient size for practical use.
3. The proposed construction will not be detrimental to the neighborhood
and zone.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission of the City of Seal
Beach does hereby approve Variance No. V-14-66 as presented.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 23rd day of November, 1966.
