RESOLUTION NO. 105
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH APPROVING VARIANCE
NO. V-16-66, ALLOWING A FENCE ALONG THE
STREET SIDE OF A CORNER LOT LOCATED AT
1140 DRIFTWOOD AVENUE AND PROVIDING THAT
THE FENCE MAY BE CONSTRUCTED TO A HEIGHT
5 FOOT ABOVE THE LOT GRADE. (MILLER)
WHEREAS, in the matter of Variance Application No. V-16-66, the Planning Commission
of the City of Seal Beach does report as follows:
1. Subject case was initiated by Gerald S. Miller, 1140 Driftwood Ave., Seal Beach.
2. Subject property is described as Lot 324 of Tract 1817. Street address is
1140 Driftwood Avenue.
3. Subject proposal is to build a fence just inside the sideyard property line
of this corner lot, along Balboa Drive. The fence will be behind an existing
retaining wall which is along the back of sidewalk and will be five feet higher
than the lot grade.
. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission findings are as follows:
1. No oral or written protests have been received.
2. During the public hearing the applicant asked that his request be dropped for
approval of a building addition with substandard yards. The Commission granted
this request.
3. A petition approving the proposed variance and signed by several neighbors
was received.
4. There are no apparent problems which would result from construction of the
fence.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission of the City of Seal
Beach does hereby approve Variance No. V-16-66 for a 5 foot high fence along the
Balboa Drive side of 1140 Driftwood Avenue as shown on the sketch submitted.

I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted at a regular
meeting of the Planning Commission of the City of Seal Beach which was held on
December 7, 1966, and carried by the following vote:
