Al'lENDNENT TO THE lmAL BF~CJr Gl'NBl'.!\L PLAN

mIEREAS. in the matter of the Seal Beach General Plan. the Planning Commission
does report as follows:
1.
A map titled "General Plan. Seal Beacb and Environs" and a printed text titled
"General Plan. ~al Beach 1985" were approved by Planning Commission of the
ctty of Seal Beach by Resolution No. 77. August 3. 1966, and were adopted by
the City Council of the City of Seal Beach by Resolution No. 1478. August 15.
1966. as the General Plan of the City of Seal Bearh.
2.
The laws of the State of California and the Seal Beach City Code provide far
addition to or amendment of the General .Plan..8'1il ,is desirAble or required from
time to time.
3.
A proposed'revised map of the Parks. and Recreation Element of the Generll
Plan has been' prepared.
Principles for establishment and development of parks and recreation facilities
are contained in the existing Seal Beach General Plan. 1985. adopted August 15.
1966. (See pages 23 and 25 of said General Plan.) A proposed set of standards
for establishment and development of local or nei~hborhood parks and recreation
facilities to serve residential areas has heen prepared and is attached herewith
as Exhibit "A".
WliEREAS. the Planning Commission findings are as follows:
1. The above described map does constitute a 10Rical and reasonable parks and
recreation plan for the City of Seal Beach.
2. The above described standards do constitute logical and reasonable standards
for establishment and development of local and neighborhood parks and recreation
facilities to s~rve resideutial areas in the City of Seal Beach.
NOW. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planni.ng Commission of the City of Seal
Beach does h(>reby approve and adopt the map entitled "Parks and Recreation Element
of the General Plan" as an amendment to the Seal Beacb General Plan. superseding
that map entitled "Parks and Recreation", which was adopted as a part of the Seal
Beack General Plan by the City Council on August 15, 1966. and does also hereby
approve and adopt Exhibit "A", as stated above, as an amendment to the Seal Beach
General Plan. providing standards for establishm~nt and nevelopment of local and
neighborhood parks and recreation facilities to serve residential areas in the
City or Seal Beach.
