CITY OF SEAL BEACH RECmfrlENDING ANEI'\DHENT OF
THE CITY CODE BY ADDITION OF CHAPTER llA "HAPPED
STREETS"

\-1HEREAS, in the matter of provl.sl.on for Hoppec. Streets, the Planning Commission
of the City of Seal Beach does report as follo"'8: "-'
1. The City Engineer reports that no provision exists to protect land master
planned as ultimate right-of-way for proposed street widenings and the opening
of mapped streets.

2. A proposed ordinance has been prepared entitled "Happed Streets" establishing
definition, regulation of building lines, protectlon of rights-of-,..ay,
administrative relief, retroactivity, severability and penalties in said
ordinance. A copy is attached"hereto as Exhihit "A".
\VHEREAS, the Planning Commission findings are as fo11m...s:
1. A need exists to protect l8nd required for ultimate right-of-way of maRped
streets. .
2. Growth of a city depends upon adequate highways.

The proposed ordinance attached as Exhibit "A" is reasonable and desirable
and should be enacted by the City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission of the City of Seal
Beach does hereby recommend the amendment of the City Code by the addition of
Chapter llA " Happed Streets".
