HomeMy WebLinkAboutPC Res 228 - 1968-07-03 . . . , # RESOLUTION NO. 228 A RESOLUTION OF THE P~NING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH APPROVING VARIANCE V-11-68 FOR A ONE FOOT SIDEYARD SETBACK FOR A FENCE OR WALL IN LIEU OF THE REQUIRED FOUR FOOT SETBACK. (VAN AUKEN) WHEREAS, in the matter of Variance No. V-11-68, the Planning Commission of the City of Seal Beach does report as follows: 1. Subject request initiated by Pearl K. Van Auken, 1301 Electric Ave., Seal Beach. 2. Subject property is legally described as Lot 1, Block 222, Tract No. 10. 3. Subject request is for a one foot sideyard setback for a fence or wall in lieu of the required four foot setback. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission findings are as follows: 1. Subject fence or wall will not adversely affect the General Plan. 2. A four foot setback for a wall along the exterior side yard of a 32 foot wide lot would be an unnecessary hardship. 3. Proposed wall is to replace an existing fence on the property. 4. Other fences in this vicinity are located one foot from exterior side property line. 5. Granting of this variance will not be injurious to property or materially detrimental to other properties because the parkway may still be used for landscaping in lieu of the four foot setback area. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission of the City of Seal Beach does hereby approve Variance V-11-68 allowing a one foot sideyard setback for a fence or wall in lieu of the required four foot setback.
