RESOLUTION NO. 299
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH APPROVING VARIANCE
APPLICATION NO. V-13-69. (GREAVES)
WHEREAS, in the matter of Variance Application No. V-13-69, the Planning Commission
of the City of Seal Beach does report as follows:
1. Subject case was initiated by Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Greaves, l405B Ocean Ave.,
Seal Beach.
2. Subject property is described as Lot 4, Block 14, Bay City Tract. Street
address is 1407 Ocean Ave., Seal Beach.
3. Subject request is to construct a two unit apartment with the second story
encroaching into the rear yard setback on a lot zoned R-3 Multiple Residential.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission findings are as follows:
1. Granting of this variance would not be detrimental to the area.
2. Similar variances have been granted in the past for the second story to
encroach into the rear yard.
3. One protest was received concerning possible obstruction of view.
4. The front. garage and curb cut should be removed. The single off-street space
gained only offsets the on-street space lost.
5. This request will not adversely affect the General Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission of the City of Seal
Beach does hereby approve Variance No. V-13-69 with the second story encroachment
into the rear yard and the elimination of the front curb cut and directs the
Building Department to proceed with granting of the building permit whether or
not the permit is actually issued prior to March I, 1969.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 22nd day of February, 1969.
