A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF
THE CUY 0.' SEAl. BEACH APPROVING USE VARIANCE
UV-2-69 PERMITTING ~~ ON- AND OFF-SITE SIGN
(BIXBY RANCH CO.)

WHEREAS, in the matter of Use Variance Application No. UV-2-69, the Planning
Commission of the City of Seal Beach does report as follows:
1. Subject request was initiated by Fred H. Bixby Ranch Company, 911 Studebaker
Road, Long Beach.
2. Subject property is described as Assessor's Parcel 130-011-84 and located
southerly of Lampson Avenue opposite the Old Ranch Country Club.
3. Subject proposal is to permit a temporary sign referring to on and off-site
Bixby Ranch Co. developments.
mlEREAS, the Planning Commission findings are as follows:
1.. The sign is designed in good taste and would not be detrimental to the area
or in conflict tIlth the General Plan.
2. The sign \/ould primarily represent Seal Beach developments, but not exclusively.
Signs in other cities would from time to time refer to Seal Beach Develop,.ents.

3. The sign would not be subject to lease and would represent Bixby Ranch Co.
developments exclusively.
4. The Use Variance shall be effective for a period of one year only from the
date of approval by the City Council. At the conclusion of that time, a
renewal application may be submitted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission of the City of Seal
Beach does approve Use Variance UV-2-69 subject to the conditions stated in the
findinKs above and in accordance with Planning Commission policy adopted
January 13, 1964, this Use Variance shall not become effective until affinned by
the City Council.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 5th day of }larch, 1969.
