A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH MAKING A DETERMINATION
OF THE PROPER ZONE FOR ANTIQUE AND/OR USED
FURNITURE SHOPS.
WHEREAS, in the matter of the proper zone for location of Antique Shop and/or
Used Furniture Shop, the Planning Commission of the City of Seal Beach does
report as follows:
1. The use "Antique Shop and/or Used Furniture Shop" is not designated specifically
in the Seal Beach Zoning Ordinance (No. 628).
2. A request for permission to use a portion of an existing building at 1520
Pacific Coast Highway for such purposes has been received from Mrs. Evelyn
Seely, 341 10th St., Seal Beach. The location is in the C-l, Service
Commercial Zone.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission findings are as follows:
1. A logical zone for placement of the use "Antique Shop and/or Used Furniture
Shop" is the C-2, General Commeri:ial Zone.
2. Those shops dealing strictly with antiques, defined as items over 100 years
old, may be allowed in a C-l Zone subject to the issuance of a Conditional
Use Permit, as prescribed in Article 20 of Ordinance No. 628.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission of the City of Seal
Beach does hereby determine that the proper zone for the use "Antique and/or
Used Furniture Shop" is the C-2 Zone with the exception as stated in Finding
No. 2 above.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 1st day of October, 1969.
