RESOLUTION NO. 372
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF SEAL BEACH APPROVING VARIANCE NO. V-32-69 PERMIT-
TING A SUBSTANDARD NUMBER OF PARKING gPACES AND
LOADING AREA IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW BUILDINC
(MILLER) .
WHEREAS, in the matter of Variance No. V-32-69 the Planning Commission of
the City of Seal Beach does report as follows:
1. Subject request initiated by Mr. Stan Miller, Marina Drive, Long Beach,
California.
2. Subject property legally described as Lot 5 and 6, Block 209, Bay View
Tract and located at 909, 909~ and 911 Electric Avenue, geal Beach,
California.
3. Subject proposes construction of a two story buildin~ with substandard
parking and substandard loadinr, zone.
mIEREAS, the Plannin~ Commission findings are as follows:

1. The applicant owns the adjoinin~ buildin~ at 913 and 915 Electric Avenue.
2. The second stories of the existinr, and the proposed buildin~ will be
jointly used as a sail loft.
3. A beauty shop, with no more than four operators, and a marine hardware
store will be the only other commercial activities in the two structures.
4. gtrict code application would require 27 on-site parkin~ spaces for
the three commercial operations.
5. Appliaant will re-open parkinr, at the rear of the existin~ buildinr, at
913 and 915 Electric Avenue, providinr, 8 on-site parkinr, spaces at that
site and an additional 7 on-site parkin~ spaces at the new facility,
making a total of 15 on-site parking spaces.
6. Because of the varying hours of operations of the different businesses
parking congestion will be reduced.
7. Boats previously stored at the site will be ~oved to the yacht club.
8. The substandard loading area could be used for parking at certain times.
9. The post office and pet shop will be eliminated from the site.

NOW, THERF.FORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission of the City
of Seal Beach does hereby approve Variance V-32-69 allowing substandard
number of on-site parkin~ spaces and substandard loadin~ zone subject to
the condition that guards be placed for the protection of the fire service
installation and that the foregoing findings be upheld.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 5th day of November, 1969.
