RESOLUTION NO. 493
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SEAL BEACH APPROVING VARIANCE APPLICATION
V-2l-70 TO PERMIT CONSTRUCTION OF A DUPLEX WITI!
TANDEM PARKING AND UPPER STORY REAR YARD ENCROACHMENT
IN THE R-3 ZONE. (BRUCE ROBERTS/CARL IRWIN)
W1IEREAS, in the matter of Variance Application No. V-2l-70, the Planning Commission
of the City of Seal Beach does report as follows:
1. Subject case was initiated by Carl Irwin, 3631 Atlantic Ave., LonR Beach,
authorized agent for Bruce Roberts, 1705 Bayou Way, Seal Beach.
2. Subject property legally described as Lot 33, Block F, Tract 1, with street
address to become 1611 Seal Way, Seal Beach.
3. Subject requests approval of construction of two units with tandem parkinR
and an eight foot cantilever of the upper stories into the 12 foot rear yard.
WllEREAS, the Planning Commission findings are as follows:
1. Variances of a similar nature have received favorable consideration in the
past and have not adversely affected the community.
2. Two individuals spoke in opposition to the proposal stating that traffic
. congestion would be increased in the area.
NOW, TI!EREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission of the City of Seal
Beach does hereby. approve Variance V-2l-70 subject to the condition that side
yard fences be held back 6 feet from the rear property line to provide adequate
vision clearance for motorists.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 21st day of October, 1970.
