RESOLUTION NO. 490
A RESOLUTION OF Tim PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SEAL BEACH APPROVING PLAN REVIEW PR-47-70
FOR A NEW FREE STANDING IDENTIFICATION SIGN FOR
THE ARCO SERVICE STATION LOCATED AT 1600 PACIFIC
COAST HIGHWAY. (ARCO)
WlrnREAS, in the matter of Plan Review Application No. PR-47-70, the Planning
Commission of the City of Seal Beach does report as follows:
1. Subject case was initiated by Jim Grow of General Maintenance, Inc., 4800 La
Palma, La Palma, authorized agent for ARCO, 1786 W. Lincoln, Anaheim.
2. Subject property legally described as Lots 33 and 35, Block 215, Tract No. 10,
more commonly known as 1600 Pacific Coast Highway, Seal Beach.
3. Subject request is to install a new ARCO free standing identification sign
with a total height of 2l'8~" at a service station.
mlEREAS, the Planning Commission findings are as follows:
1. The Atlantic Richfield Company has changed its corporate name to ARCO. This
name change requires that identification signs at service stations be revised
accordingly.
2. The proposed height of the free standing sign is less than the maximum height
allowed under the City's service station ordinance.
3. The sign will not rotate.
4. The dimensions of the sign are 3'8~" x 12'6" with an area of less than 50
square feet.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission of the City of Seal
Beach does hereby approve Plan Review PR-47-70 subject to the condition that the
sign not exceed the height limitation of 25 feet.
