A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF SEAL BEACH APPROVING VARIANCE APPLICATION NO.
V-18-70 PERMITTING A ROOM ADDITION TO ENCROACH INTO
THE REAR YARD SETBACK. (SICKLER),
WHEREAS, in the matter of Variance Application No. V-18-70, the
Planning Commission of the City of Seal Beach does report as follows:
1. Subject case was initiated by Charles & Vermille Sickler,
1030 Driftwood Avenue, Seal Beach, California.
2. Subject property is descriQed as Lot 316, Tract 1817,
commonly known as 1030 Driftwood Avenue, Seal Beach.
3. Subject request permission to build an addition to the rear
of the existing dwelling which would encroach 4'6" into a
portion of the 10' rear yard setback.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission findings are as follows:
Findings
1.
The proposed addition would encroach 6 inches into a utility
easement, maintained across the rear of the property by the
Southern California Edison Company.

2. The dwelling is situated on the property in such a manner
that a relatively large open area will be retained along a
rear portion of a side yard.
3. The addition will be architectually compatible with the design
of the existing unit.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission of the
City of Seal Beach does hereby approve Variance No. V-18-70 subject
to the approval by the Southern California Edison Company for
encroachment into the easement at the rear of the property.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 2nd day of
September 1910.
