RESOLUTION NO. 453
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF TIlE
CITY OF SEAL BEACIl APPROVING APPEAL A-3-70 TO
ALLOW CONSTRUCTION OF AN ADDITION TO AN EXISTING
RESIDENCE. (GRANT HORNBEAK)
WHEREAS, in the matter of Appeal Application No. A-3-70, the Planning Commission
of the City of Seal Beach does report as follows:
1. Subject case was initiated by Grant Hornbeak, 468 Schooner Way. Authorized
agent was Ralph Jensen, 297 Corsair Way, Seal Beach.
2. Subject property described as Lot 36, Tract 6345.
3. Subject request is to enclose an existing patio, converting this area into
permanent living quarters.
WlIEREAS, the Planning Commission findings are as follows:
1. The proposed enclosure will not encroach into the required sideyard or change
the general appearance of the structure.
2. Concern was expressed about setting precedent permitting other patio areas
to be encloaed which would not encroach into the setbacks, but could change
the appearance and intent of the development.
3. Each proposal must be considered on its own ~erit to insure that it does
not violate the intent of the development.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission of the City of Seal
Beach does hereby approve Appeal No. A-3-70 on the basis that the architectural
intent of the development was not altered.

I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted at a regular
meeting of tIle Planning Commission of the City of Seal Beach which was held on
Wednesday, July 1, 1970, and carried by the following vote:
