RESOLUTION NO. 423 A RESOLUTION OF TIlE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH APPROVING VARIANCE V-9-70 FOR UNCOVERED PARKING FOR A DWELLING IN TIlE R-2 ZONE. (GROSSGOLD) WHEREAS, in the matter of Variance Application No. V-9-70, the Planning Commission of the City of Seal Beach does report as follows: 1. Subject case was initiated by Richard and Dorothy W. Grossgold, 6304 E. Vista St., Long Beach. 2. Subject property is described as portions of Lots 36, 38, 40, 42 and 44, Block 218, Tract No. 10, commonly known as 244 17th St. 3. Subject proposal is to remodel an existing church recreation building into a three bedroom house with uncovered off-street parking. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission findings are as follows: 1. Property in question has an irregular shape because the P.E. right-of-way crosses portions of the lots. 2. Lots are cut so that parking access from the alley is very limited. 3. Construction of a carport on the front portion of the property would be unattractive. 4. The owner of the property has difficulty keeping neighbors from parking on the property. 5. Presently the lots are paved with asphalt and no landscaping is provided. 6. Applicant requests uncovered parking at the rear of the lots. 7. The conversion to residential use in the existing building is for an interim period until the right-of-way is released allowing development of the area. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission of the City of Seal Beach does hereby approve Variance No. V-9-70 subject to the condition that landscape plans be submitted for review and that the variance be renewed in one year. t'f..f3rvlL> Chairman he Planning Commission I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted at a regular meeting ~eeting of the Planning Commission of the City of Seal Beach which was held on Wednesday, May 6, 1970, and carried by the following vote: AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Barton, Crowley, Knapp, Lanning, Morris None None Commissioners: Commissioners: Commissioners: ,-;;l.J etary of -/7 ~ the P ....r:/ ng Commiss on
