RESOLUTION NO. 398
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SEAL BEACH APPROVING VARIANCE V-5-70
PERMITTING AN ENCLOSED PATIO TO ENeROACH THREE
FEET INTO THE REQUIRED REAR YARD SETBACK.

WHEREAS, in the matter of Variance Application No. V-5-70, the Planning Commission
of the City of Seal Beach does report as follows:
1. Subject case was initiated by Dick Dodson, .J84l Goldenrod, Seal Beach, with
J. R. Johnston, 9656 Garden GroveBlvd., Garden Grove, designated as the
authorized representative.
2. Subject property is described as Lot 87, Tract No. 6571.
3. Subject proposal is to construct an al1iminum-roofed, screened side patio
encroaching three feet into the required rear yard setback.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission findings are as follows:
1. Subject property is located on a cul-de-sac with narrow frontage requiring
placement of the house deeper on the lot than would be necessary on a
standard lot resulting in a smaller rear yard.
2. Similar variance have been granted.
3. Proposed addition would be oriented toward outdoor living and not an integral
part of the residence.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission of the City of Seal
Beach does hereby approve Variance No. V-5-70 with the condition that no permanent
enclosure be made now or in the future.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 18th da;v of February, 1970.
