V-3-70 ENLARGEMENT OF AN EXISTING APARTMENT UNIT WITH SUBSTANDARD PARKING. (BECKER) WHEREAS, in the matter of Variance Application No. V-3-70, the Planning Commission of the City of Seal Beach does report as follows: 1. Subject case was initiated by Millie Becker, 3330 Wolfe St., Lakewood, Calif. Carl H. Irwin, 3631 Atlantic Ave., Long Beach, Calif. was desnigated as her authorized agent. 2. Subject property is located at 1316 Ocean Avenue, Seal Beach, and is described as Lot 7, Block G, Tract 1009. 3. Subject request is to enlarge a one=bedroom apartment into a two-bedroom apartment. There are a total of four apartment units at this location with three off-street parking spaces furnished. No additional parking is proposed. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission findings are as follows: 1. Under the present zoning code, six parking spaces would be required for 4 one or two bedroom apartments. 2. Enlargement of a unit could accommodate more persons increasing the congestion in the area. 3. Approval of this variance would be a grant of special privilege and be setting a precedent not in conformance with good planning. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission of the City of Seal Beach does hereby deny Variance No. V-3-70. ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 18th ~ of February, 1970.
