RESOLUTION NO. d'fY"
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA, OPPOSING THE
SOUTHERLY EXTENSION OF THE SAN GABRIEL FREEWAY,
NO. 605, AND THE PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION OF THE
PACIFIC COAST FREEWAY.
WHEREAS, the Planning COlIIIIIi.ssion has not previously taken action opposing the
southerly extension or the 605 Freew~ and the proposed construction or the
paciric Coast Freew~; and
WHEREAS, the proposed Paciric Coast Freew~ will pose a serious threat to the
continued existence or the tidal marshlands located on the Seal Beach Naval
Weapons Station; and
WHEREAS, the southerly extension or the 605 (San Gabriel) Freew~ and the
proposed construction or the Paciric Coast Freew~ will pose a serious threat
to the health, wellare and living environment to the citizens of Seal Beach; and
WHEREAS, in consideration or revised goals ror the City's General Plan the
Commission is on record as opposing the development or any rreew~s which are
not considered to be in the community's best interest.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning COl'IIDission or the City or Seal
Beach hereby opposes the southerly extension or the San Gabriel Freeway (No. 605)
and the proposed construction or the Paciric Coast Freew~.
