RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SEAL BEACH APPROVING THE DELETION OF THE PROPOSED RE-
QUIREMENT FOR COVERED PARKING IN SURFSIDE.
WHEREAS, in the matter of covered covered parking for Surfs ide, the Planning
Commission of the City of Seal Beach does report as follows:
1. The proposed covered parking amendment was part of a number of amendments
intended to clarify all zoning requirements for Surfside.
2. Covered parking is implied but not stated in the current provisions for
Surfside.
3. The proposed requirement for covered parking would be consistent with the
requirement for covered parking in other residential areas of Seal Beach.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission findings are as follows:
1. Residents of Surfs ide are opposed to the proposed covered parking pro-
visions for Surfs ide due to the small size of lots and limits on joint
use of property when covered parking is required.
2. Two of the Planning Commissioners were of the opinion that covered parking
should be required throughout the City with no special provisions for Surf-
side.
3. Three of the Planning Commissioners felt that due to the small lots in
Surfs ide, special treatment was warranted with regard to provisions for
covered parking.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission of the City of
Seal Beach does hereby approve the deletion of the proposed requirement for
covered parking in Surfside.

meeting of the Planning Commission of the City of Seal Beach which was held
on Wednesday, December 20, 1972, and carried by the following vote:
