V-51-72 FOR A SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENCE WITH A ONE FOOT SIDE YARD. WHEREAS. in the matter of V-51-72, the Planning Com~ission of the City of Seal Beach does report as follows: 1. SubJect case init1ated by John Palmer/Richard Moody, 16325 So. Pacific Avenue, Sunset Beach. 2. Subject property described as Lot 1, Block A, Surfside Colony, commonly known as A-I Surfside. 3. Subject proposal is to construct a s1ngle family residence in the R-l Zone with park1ng off Anderson Street and Variance for a one foot side yard. WHEREAS. the Planning Commission find1ngs are as follows. 1. Mr. Moody, the authorized agent spoke in favor of a one foot side yard on a street and indicated that this was common practice in other political jurisd1ct1ons. He obJected to engineering conditions which required full 1mprovements on a dedicated street. . 2. A representat1ve of Surfs ide Colony Ltd. Board of Directors spoke 1n favor of the proposal. 3. ~embers of the Planning Comm1ssion indicated that no hardsh1p seemed to eX1st for a one foot side yard and dedicated streets should be improved to City standards. NOW. THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission of the City of Seal Beach does hereby deny Varriance App11cation V-51-72 for the reasons that no hardship was shown for the one foot s1de yard and that the applicant would not agree to install full street improvements on a dedicated street. ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 1 st day of November, ~ I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted at a Regular meet1ng of the Planning Commiss1on of the City of Seal Beach which was held on Wednesday Nobember 1. 1972 , and carried by the followmg vote: AYES: Commissioners Knapp, Lanning, Hammond, Ripperdan NOES: Commissioners None .
