RESOLUTION NO. 668 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING CO~nIISSION OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH REPORTING AND RECO}R{EN~ING TO THE CITY COUNCIL THE ADDITION OF TWO PARCELS OF LAND TO THE PROPOSED OPEN SPACE/RECREATION ELEMENT OF THE GENERAL PLAN. WHEREAS, in the matter of adcition of two parcels in the Open Space/Recreation Element, the Plann1ng Comm1ssion of the City of Seal Beach does report as follows: 1. By Planning Commission Resolution No. 657 an Open Space/Recreation Element to the General Plan was approved with recommendations to the City Counc11 on July 19, 1972. 2. On August 14, 1972 the City Council referred the Open Space/Recreation Element back to the Plann1ng Commiss10n with instruct10ns that a 7.85 acre parcel and a 19 acre parcel owned by Bixby Ranch Co. be included in the Open Space/Recreat10n Element and that the Commiss10n cons1der these parcels at their next meeting. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission findings are as follows: 1. Members of the audience were given the opportunity to speak although a public hesring was not conducted. 2. Concern was expressed by the Commission over the possible high cost of acquisition and development of these parcels. 3. Due to the demonstrated lack of ava1lable open space in the northeast section of the City of Seal Beach, the majority of the Plannin~ Commission felt that the 7.85 acre and 18.22 acre parcels should be included in the Open Space/ Recreation Element ~f the General Plan. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commiss10n of the City of Seal Beach does hereby report &nd recommends to the City Council the add1tion of two parcels of land in the proposed Open Space/Recreat10n Element of the Genera~ Plan. ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 21st day of August, 1972.
