RESOLUTION NO. 619
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF SEAL BEACH APPROVING VARIANCE APPLICATION V-12-72
TO PERMIT CONSTRUCTION OF A FOUR UNIT APARTMENT WITH
TANDEM PARKING. LOT COVERAGE IN EXCESS OF THAT PRE-
SCRIBED IN ZONING ORDINANCE AND ENCROACHMENT OF UPPER
STORIES INTO A PORTION OF A SIDE YARD.
WHEREAS. in the matter of Variance Application V-12-72. the Planning Comm~ssion
of the City of Seal Beach does report the following:
1. Subject case initiated by Edward and Agnes Artman, 10425 Slater Avenue,
Fountain Valley, California.
2. Subject property described as Lots 25 & 26, Block E, Trsct 1, commonly
known as 1507-1509 Seal Way, Seal Beach. California.
3. Subject proposal is to construct a four unit apartment with tsndem parking.
excess lot coverage and side yard encroachment of upper stories into a
portion of the NE corner of the east side yard.
WHEREAS. the Planning Commission findings are ss follows:
1. The irregular shape of the subject property constitues hardship.
2. TWo persons opposed the proposal.
3. One written communication was received for the proposal and three persons
spoke for the proposal.
4. Block wall would reduce effect of vehicular noise.' fumes and headliRht glare.
NOW, THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission of the City of Seal
Beach does hereby approve Variance Application V-12-72 with these conditions:
1. Engineering conditions be met.
2. 6 foot high block wall be constructed along side property lines.
3. Rear stairway be enclosed.
4. Land Use Agreement to stipulate number of units (four), and keep parking
for veh~cles only.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 5th day of April, 1972.
