TO ALLOW THE CONSTRUCTION OF A BALCONY ON AN EXISTING NON-CONFORMING DWEU.ING ON SEAL WAY. WHEREAS. in the matter of Variance Application No. V-7-72, the Planning Commission of the City of Seal Beach does report as follows: 1. Subject case initiated by George F. Meadows, 2929 Knox Avenue, Los Angeles, CA. 2. Subject property described as Lot 14, Block E, Tract 1009, commonly known as 1109 Seal Way. Seal Beach. 3. Subject proposal is to construct a balcony onto the ocean side of an existing three unit apartment on Seal Way. which is non-conforming because it fails to meet existing parking requirements. WHEREAS. the Planning Commission findings are as follows: 1. The proposed addition would improve the appearance of the building. 2. There are three on-site parking spaces of less than the required width. 3. There does not appear to be additional on-site space that could be used for parking. 4. Balconies of a similar nature were permitted to be constructed prior to the time that many became non-conforming due to changes in parking requirements. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning CO=SS1on of the City of Seal Beach does hereby approve Variance Application No. V-7-72.
