A RESOLUTIOB OF THE PLANlfING COMMISSION OF THE
CITY or SEAL BEACH APPROVING VARIABCE V-31-11
FOR AN ADDITION TO AN EXISTIIG BOB-CONFORMING
BlJILDIIIG. (CALLIS)
WHEREAS, in the III&tter ot Variance Application No. V-31-71. the Planning CCllllllission
of the Ci t;y o~ Seal Beach does report as tollows:
1. SubJect case initiated b;y D. M. Callis, Jr.. 1i506 UDiversit;y Ave., Riverside.
2. SubJect propert;y described as Lot 12, Block D, Tract 1009, cCllllllODl;y known as
1013 Seal Wa;y.
3. SubJect proposal is to construct a batbrocm addition to an upstairs unit ot
an existing two unit non-conf01'llling building. The 3 parking spaces on-site
vould be uncovered and encroach into the sideyard setback.
WHEREAS, the Planning CCllllllission ~indings are as to11ovs:
1. Existing building is non-cont01'llling because of uncovered parking and
insu~~ic1ent DUIIlber o~ parking spaces on-site.
2. Code requires tour covered parking spaces; three uncovered spaces encroaching
into the side;yard setback are provided.
3. Addition would be an improvement to the building.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning CCllllllission ot the Cit;y of' Seal
Beach does hereb;y approve Variance V-31-71 ~or a bathroolll addition to a non-
cont01'llling structure with parking encroaching into the sideyard setback with
the condition that the parking area be covered.
