RESOLUTION NO. 785
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMKISSION OF THE
CITY OF SEAL BEACH DENYING VARIANCE V-32-73
FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A 14 UNIT APARTMENT ClBfl'LEX
IN THE R-3 ZONE. (BURGESS-DONOVAN)
WHEREAS, in the matter of Variance Application No. V-32-73. the Planning Commission
of the City of Seal Beach does report as follows:
1. Subject case initiated by Burgess-Donovan, Inc., 789 W. 20th St. Costa Mesa.
2. Subject property described as a portion of Section U, T5S, R12W. in Lot C-l
Block 101, Tract No. 698, and cODDDOnly known as 216 1st St.
3. Subject proposal is to construct a 14 unit apartment building with varisnces
for more than 10 units on a parcel, tandem parking, excess building height.
and leas than required rear yard setback.
WHEREAS. the Planning eo_i8sion f:lJldings are as follows:
1. Six persons spoke in opposition to the proposal.
2. The concern regarding overall density of the area was expressed.
3. Applicant would bring building height into conformance. and advised the
rear yard encroachment was for a stairway only.
NOW, THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning CoDDDission of the City of Sesl
Beach does hereby deny Variance V-32-73.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 17th day of October. 1973.
