HomeMy WebLinkAboutPC Res 745 - 1973-05-16 . . . . e RESOLUTION NO. 145 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH APPROVING AND RECOMMENDING THAT THE CITY COUNCIL AMEND SEC. 1912 OF ZONING APPENDIX TO THE CITY CODE EXTENDING THE DATE FOR ABATEMENT TO FIFTEEN (l5) YEARS AFTER THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF ORDINANCE 628 (ZONING). WHEREAS, in the matter of amending Sec. 1912 of the zoning ordinance, the Planning Commission of the City of Seal Beach does report as follows: 1. Sec. 1912 of the Zoning Ordinance provides for the abatement of nonconforming trailer park facilities within ten years of the effective date of Ordinance No. 628 (Zoning), effective date 1963. 2. The trailer park lease has been extended until 1918, after which time the property will be put to another use. 3. Should abatement take place in 1913, a hardship would be =posed on the residents of the trailer park. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission findings are as follows: 1. Amend1ng Sec. 1912 of Zoning Ordinance to allow fifteen (l5) years for abatement from effective date of Ordinance No. 628 (Zoning) would allow the trailer park use to remain for approximately five (5) additional years. 2. The leaae will run for five years and provisions will be made to notify the residents in advance of lease expiration. 3. The Plann1ng Commission is of the opinion that to extend the abatement period' s effective date would be in the best interest of the City and its residents. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission of the City of Seal Beach does hereby approve and recommend that the City Council amend Sec. 1912 of Ordinance No. 628 (Zon1ng) to extend the date for abatement to fifteen (15) years after the effective date of the zoning ordinance.
