Wednesday, February 5, 1975, In the CouncIl Chambers of the Cltv AdmInIstratIon
BUlldlng The meetlng was called to order bv ChaIrman Lannlng at 7 30 p.m
and the Pledge to the Flag was led by Vlce Chalrman Rlpperdan
Present Cook, SchmItt, Rlpperdan, KnaDp, Lannlng

The mlnutes of January 15, 1975, were unanlmouslv approved as corrected

A Harvey Webb (Carl IrwIn), V-1-75
Request to permIt a 6" structural encroachment lnto a requIred SIde yard for
forty-four feet of a second story addltlon to an eXIstIng slngle famIly
reSIdence at 701 Taper Drlve PubllC hearIng opened Carl Irwln, 3631 AtlantIC
Ave , Long Beach, stated that the encroachment was due to an lnaccurate fIeld
measurement when the plans were drafted He pOlnted out that the encroachment
began at about 9 ft above grade, the natural grade had not been chanqed and
a 12'6" dlstance eXlsted between the subJect house and the nelghbor's house
Harvey Webb, 701 Taper Drlve, spoke ln favor of the request. No one spoke
In Opposltlon to the varlance PublIC hearIng closed Mr Knapp moved to
approve V-1-75, seconded by Mr Rlpperdan and unanlmously approved.

The proposal lS to add 70 Sq ft to an eXlstlng second story artlst Studl0
above the eXlstlng qarage. PubllC hearIng opened. Thomas Greeley, 1629 Seal
Way, stated that the StUdl0 addltlon was actually the encloslng of an eXlstlng
open porch at the second level In response to a questlon, Mr Greeley stated
that hlS garage was currently used for storage of materlals ln conJunctlon
WIth the general renovatlon of the house and that he would shortly be openlng
up the garage for automobl1e parklng No one spoke In opposItIon to the
reauest PubllC hearIng closed. Mr Rlpperdan moved to aDprove CP-1-75,
seconded by Mr Knapp and unanlmously aoproved Resolutlon No. 888

establIshed for Houslng and CommunIty Development Act moneys and what proJects
the flrst year's funds would be used for Secretary answered.
