HomeMy WebLinkAboutPC Res 1010 - 1976-07-21 . . . ~ RESOLUTION NO. 1010 A RESOLUTION OF THE SEAL BEACH PLANNING COMMISSION MAKING RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE CITY COUNCIL REGARDING THE MAXIMUM NUMBER OF STORIES FOR RESIDENCES IN SURFS I DE COLONY. WHEREAS, in 1975 the Planning Commisslon conducted an in depth study of the zon1ng development standards for SurfS1de and made recommendations to Clty Counc1l; and City Councll approved and adopted revlsed development standards for Surfs1de includlng the retent10n of the he1ght provis1ons of three-storles, maximum build1ng helght of 35 feet; and WHEREAS, WHEREAS, WHEREAS, C1ty Council requested that the Plann1ng Commiss1on conslder amendlng the zoning ordlnance to perm1t 35 foot h1gh resldences without regard to the number of storles; and the Planning Commlssion consldered both the advantaqes and disadvantages of not restr1ct1ng the number of storles ln res1dences that retaln a 35 foot height llmlt in Surfs1de Colony. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Plannlnq Commlssion does strongly recommend to C1ty Council retentlon of the present helght and story llm1tations for reSldences 1n Surfslde on the baS1S of fire safety, inadequate water system, narrow streets, small lot Slzes, minimum setbacks of bUlldlngs and the qeneral welfare of the commun1ty. .
