A Resolution of the City of Seal Beach Planning Commission
Recognizing and Honoring James Sharp
For His Dedicated Service to the City of Seal Beach
The Planning Commission of the City of Seal Beach does Hereby Resolve.

Jim Sharp was appointed to the City's Planning Commission
on June 23, 1986, to fill an unexpired term. On July 10,
1989, Council Member Joe Hunt appointed Jim Sharp to a
four-year term. And on June 28,1993, Council Member
George Brown reappointed Jim Sharp to another four-year
term.
Jim Sharp's exceptional knowledge and expertise provided
invaluable direction in numerous major proJects. Jim fully
deserves to be honored for directing the Planning
Commission meetings as Chairman and hiS work on the
following major projects:
. The Main Street Specific Plan.
. Bixby Ranch Company's proposal for a mixed-use
development in north Seal Beach
. Mola Corporation's proposal for residential development
on the Hellman Ranch.
. Hellman Family's proposal for residential development on
the Hellman Ranch.
. Rezoning the 200 and 300 Blocks of Seal Beach
Boulevard to Limited Commercial Zoning
Jim Sharp worked on approximately 125 Conditional Use
Permit applications, 55 Variance applications, 149 Plan
Review applications, Innumerable ZOning Text Amendments,
Zone Changes, General Plan Amendments and Negative
Declarations; and
Jim Sharp's professionalism, knowledge and thoroughness
has contributed greatly to the Planning Commission, City
staff and to the City's quality of life.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission of the
City of Seal Beach and the Department of Development Services does hereby
honor and thank James Sharp for hiS eleven years of service in faCilitating the
goals of the Planning Commission, for his many accomplishments and dedication
to the City of Seal Beach and offers this resolution as a demonstration of its
sincere appreciation.
