overseeing the operation of the Park, who will the City be
dealing with, to which he suggested that-this be looked into.
Mayor Hastings responded that the City is monitoring the
situation however it will likely be necessary to await the final
disposition of Mr. Dawson's estate. There being no further
comments, Mayor Hastings declared Oral Communications closed.
ADJOURNMENT I
It was the order of the Chair, with consent of the Council, to
adjourn the meeting until Monday, April 29th at 6:45 p.m. The
meeting was adjourned by unanimous consent at 8:20 p.m.

The City Council of the City of Seal Beach met in regular
adjourned session at 6:45 p.m. with Mayor Hastings calling the
meeting to order with the Salute to the Flag.
ROLL CALL

INTERVIEWS I APPOINTMENT - COUNCILMEMBER - DISTRICT FIVE
Mayor Hastings welcomed the five persons that had submitted
letters of interest in the vacant District Five City Council
position. The applicants, Messrs.- Harry R. Fulton, John C.

"Jack" Nevin, Vincent spinosa, Henry M. Glunz, and Alex H.
Brett, introduced themselves and provided a brief description of
their background and experience. Each of the applicants voiced
their opinion and/or responded to numerous questions and
scenarios posed by the Council and members of the audience, also
expressed their views as to what they perceived as issues facing
Seal Beach.
It was the order of the Chair, with consent of the Council, to
declare a brief recess at 8:30 p.m. The Council reconvened at
8:40 p.m. with Mayor Hastings calling the meeting to order.
The City Manager described several options available to the
Council to take formal action with regard to making an
appointment. Questions and responses continued between the
Council and the applicants, as well as a member of the audience.
At the conclusion of discussion, Mayor Hastings nominated Mr.
Harry Fulton as the District Five Council representative and
Councilman Laszlo nominated Mr. Jack Nevin. Brown moved, second
by Forsythe, to declare nominations closed.

Forsythe moved, second by Hastings, to appoint Mr. Harry Fulton
as the District Five representative.

Mayor Hastings and the Council conveyed congratulations to Mr.
Fulton on his appointment and appreciation to the other
applicants for their interest. with regard to the Oath of
Office and Officially assuming the Council seat, Mr. Fulton
advised that he would not be available to do so on May 21st due
to a prior personal commitment. The Council agreed that Mr.
Fulton would assume his Council position at the regular meeting
of May 13th.
ADJOURNMENT
It was the order of the Chair, with consent of the Council, to
adjourn the meeting until Monday, May 13th at 6:30 p.m. to meet
in Closed Session if deemed necessary. The meeting was
adjourned by unanimous consent at 9:08 p.m.

session at 7:05 p.m. with Mayor Hastings calling the meeting to
order with the Salute to the Flag. Seal Beach resident Mr. Dick
Ramseyer sang the National Anthem.
