COMMISSION CONCERNS
Cha~rman Sharp read a statement prepared by h~mself to be pr~nted
~n the newspaper:
Mr. Galen Ambrose, dur~ng the March 26th c~ty Counc~l meet~ng
when asked to ident~fy the source of his allegat~ons that
Bolsa Avenue was to be w~dened named me. He further sa~d that
I was caut~oned not to elaborate. I d~d not then, or at any
t~me, say Bolsa Avenue was go~ng to be w~dened. At no t~me
has anyone ever stopped me from stat~ng my pos~tion on an
~ssue before the Plann~ng Comm~ss~on. (S~gned/James Sharp,

Mr. Anderson expressed h~s cont~nued d~smay w~th the "doghouse"
near h~s home. Mr. Wh~ ttenberg adv~sed that staff has been
d~scussed the matter w~th the c~ty Attorney and they are cont~nuing
the~r rev~ew. Mr. Barrow ~nd~cated the c~ty Counc~l has placed
th~s ~tem on the~r agenda for Apr~l 9, 1990, so there w~ll be
further d~scuss~on on th~s matter. The Counc~l has ~nstructed the
c~ty Attorney's Off~ce to ~nvest~gate whether there's been any
m~srepresentat~on on the part of the appl~cant, so ~t's not
appropr~ate to d~scuss that at th~s t~me. We w~ll be g~v~ng a
report to the Counc~l on Apr~l 9th or at a subsequent meet~ng.
Your comments and concerns should be g~ ven to Lee Wh~ ttenberg . The
Counc~l wants another report from staff. You and your ne~ghbors
could present your pet~tion to the Counc~l. Mr. Curt~s sa~d the
owner of the house ~s request~ng ~t be put off unt~l the Counc~l
meet~ng of Apr~l 23 for rel~g~ous reasons. Th~s would be up to the
Counc~l. Mr. Anderson asked "...but ~s ~t poss~ble that we might
get that dec~s~on before 10:30 at n~ght? Can that be sa~d at the
start of the meet~ng?" Mr. Barrow sa~d ~t's w~th~n the d~scret~on
of the c~ty Council. He suggested Mr. Anderson m~ght also want ~t
cont~nued two weeks unt~l the homeowner could be present also.
Staff could recommend to the c~ty Counc~l that (1) the ~tem be
cont~nued and/or (2) an announcement be made at the beg~nn~ng of
the meet~ng to request the Counc~l address the ~ssue at the
beg~nn~ng of the meet~ng.
