MEMORANDUM
TO:
FROM:
Allen J. Parker
. Dudley Hemphill
SUBJECT: Sewer Odor Problems at Seal Beach Blvd. & Westminster Blvd.
Complaint from Councilmember Risner
The County Sanitation District investigated the above and foun9 that
gas was escaping from vent holes in manhole covers when the City's
force main pump was activated.
Sanitation District employees subsequently sealed the offending man-
holes. This was accomplished some time ago, but we were not notified
of their actions until I contacted them by telephone this morning.
We will continue to monitor the intersection for odors and take action
when appropriate.
