A RESOLUTION OF THE SEAL BEACH CITY COUNCIL
DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO POST ALL SIGNS
NECESSARY TO INDICATE THAT VEHICLES EXCEEDING A
MAXIMUM GROSS WEIGHT OF 3 TONS ARE PROHIBITED ON
LAMPSON AVENUE IN THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH
THE SEAL BEACH CITY COUNCIL HEREBY RESOLVES, DIRECTS AND
ORDERS:
Section 1. Pursuant to Seal Beach Municipal Code § 8.10.120A, the
City Council may by resolution designate streets as truck routes for movement of
vehicles exceeding a maximum gross weight of 3 tons. Seal Beach Municipal
Code § 8.10.1206 provides that no person shall operate a vehicle exceeding a
maximum gross weight of 3 tons on any street that is not part of a truck route
designated by Council resolution pursuant to subsection A.
Section 2. The City Council has not adopted any resolution designating
Lampson Avenue as a truck route. Further, neither the City's Circulation Element
in its General Plan nor the Orange County Transportation Authority's Master Plan
of Arterial Highways designates Lampson Avenue as a truck route.
Section 3. Based upon the foregoing, the Council hereby directs the
City Engineer to post all signs necessary to indicate that vehicles exceeding a
maximum gross weight of 3 tons are prohibited on Lampson Avenue within the
corporate boundaries of the City of Seal Beach.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of Seal Beach, at a
meeting hereof held on the 8th day of June , 2009 by the following vote:
