The regular monthly ~aeting and an open hearing of the Seal B~.ch Environmental Quality Control Board wa.s called to order b:r Chairman Pott.er at 7: 36 p.m. ?he Fledge of Allegiance was led by Kolb.~. ROLL CALL --- Present: Grayson, Kale, Potter, Willson. Absent: DeForest. HINUTES Moved by Kolb,seconded by Grayson , that the minutes of the Board Meeting of September 6, 1979 ce approved as printed. Carried. DISCUS3ION - OLD nUSIN2SS Asbestos Coating Project: Grayson reported the two schools i~volved had been inspected b:: the proper agency and found satisfactory, though a minor correction was sugges~ed. The p~oje~t will be followed up with the proper local personnel involved. Also,an attempt will be made to obtain a written report on the results of the tests ~3de. (e<:~ ;vt'<\ ~?A ~iaison. Project: The Chairman reported no answers had been"regarding the nu.r::erous inquiries made regaTding the usa of pve materials in water storage. Under date 01 S8pte~~er 14, he had sent another request to the Water Resources Board in Sacremento. Also other sources are being cOYltacted in an effort to gain the needed information. The Chairman had forwa.rded our request to be placed on the mailing list for t.he EPA Jou~al.to'the Supt.Doc~8ents. Govt. Printing ,Office. .No charge is involved. - NEW BUS HH:;SS Rlblic Hearing on Environmental Concerns: Even though the atten~~ce left something to-be-desired,i~dld not interfere with the conduct of the hearing. Chairman Potter introduced the Board members present and briefly covered the responsibilities of the Board. A chart,supplied by Kolb,was prominently displayed showing the fifteen projects currently being considered. The ChairIi.an reviewed the list,indicating the purposP. and present status and in some cases what is anticipated in following the project. It was stressed the hearing was to uncover environmental hazards or problems that are ~ot presently being considered. Those attending suppl,ied" three areas for considerition. One had ", to do with aircraft noise and the other involved transportation. The Chairmar.: promised that the suggestions would receive further consideration at future Board meetings.
