POSTPONED REr:ULAR MEETING

The regular monthly meeting of the Seal Beach Environmental Quality Control Board
had to be postponed for two weeks because of availability of members to attend. The
postponed meeting was called to order by Chairman tolo at 7:40 p.m.

Grayson moved, seconded by Potter,and carried that the minutes of the Board meeting
of Jur.e 7, 1979 be' approved as printed.

Lo~~ 3ea~h Airport Expansion: Chairman Kolb reported that the Board's report had been
for..rard.ed to the Councll. Following this,he participated in the dxaf'ting of a resolution
coveri~ the salient points in the report. A copy of a letter dated July 16, 1979 from
~~yor Seitz to the Long Beach l-1ayor was read. Amongst other things,it indicated that. the
ex;:a..nsion .....ill almost certainly negatively impact the City of Seal Beach.
Asbestos Coati~~s:Grayson reported that our lett.er of May )1, 1979 to the Division of
Occupa.tio!'..al Safety and Health had been referred to a John Ripple of the California OSHA
Co~sultation Service for attention. Grayson has been in touch with them and will foll~".

thr?ats to the environment of Seal Beach. Each Board member w-as asked to have available
tr.ei~ suggestions and comments preferably in written form for the next meeting.

Election of Officers: It was announced that the meeting was open for nomination of
Officers for the 1979-1980 term of office. Willson nominated Potter for Chairman._
Grayson nominated Willson for Secretary. Moved and seconded that nomina.t.ions be closed;
carried. Potter .took ..over as Chairman.

Potter reported he had received from EPA a price list of their various reference
bulletins, circulars etc. At this point it is not clear whether these will supply- t.he-
infor-~tion we need. The Los Angeles office of the EPA will be contacted by Potter'to
dete~ine if they can be help~ll in this matter.
L~ad Poisoni~~: Potter presented a reference appearing in Parade issue of July 1. 1979
on.leaa poisonir~ which may be of interest when studying one of our projects.
