EVALUATION
The Parson-I-s EIR indicated that the allowable noise level would not' be
exceeded in the vicinity of Seal Beach now, or in the fbreseeabl e future by ,:---.' - --

.shoul d be__ !n~reasecY- only sl rghtly.
e
Another facet- of ..increased 'air, traffic is the possibility of an airborne
incident over Seal Beach.--As indicated previously, less than ten percent
of the'aircra-ft-ac-tivi-ty \.jould be-available-for-such an incident. Such,
incfdents are extremely'rate-under any, conditions and usually occur close to
-the activ~ runway. A studyl-b~ the government indicated t~at _____ percent
of airborne incidences occur \'lithin miles' of the ail^port and runway.
This data indicates that the chances of the residents or property of Seal Beach
, '
being injured or damaged by the increase in air traffic is remote.
Poll ution to Seal Beach from increased air traffic waul d be insignificant
based upon the prevailing winds and traffic patterns. Vehicular traffic on
the 405 Freeway could increase slightly'as citizens from the south and

southwest travel to the airport. However~ Orange County Ai_rport has sim~~ar- '~,_
f~ights which \'Iould limit this traffic. Traffic from the north would be likely.:
. .. .-.
to take Will 0\'1 (S~'ring) to the airport. With the prevail in9 wind from the' sout~'~-

'.. =- . - . -.. -~ t'~ '.~'..~
A final, low order consideration would be the S11ght added convenience of
the expanded air service to" the residents,--of Seal Beach.
