Mr. Kolb discussed a neighbor's finding of asbestos
materials used in College Park West Homes. He reviewed the
EQCB's past involvement in the discovery of asbestos in the
ducting of forced air units in that area, and in
investigating an asbestos problem in the local schools. Ms.
Knapp suggested that the neighbor present her findings to
the Board at a later meeting.
Mr. Eisenberg asked whether other members of the Board had
received an invitation to tour the Colorado aqueduct. He
proposed that the Board take the tour as a group in March.
The other members of the Board agreed, and directed staff to
provide the EQCB with more information on the tour, and
instructions on making reservations.
Ms. Knapp raised the issue of sewer fumes at Seal Beach
Boulevard and Westminster. She requested staff to look into
the matter and report back at the next meeting.
The EQCB also requested staff to make a report at the next
meeting on the status of the asbestos clean-up at the D.W.P.
site.
