ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY CONTROL BOARD
THURSDAY, MARCH 2, 1978
REGULAR MEETING
7:30 P.M.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Telford with Mr. Watkinson
leading the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

MINUTES
Minutes of February 16, 1978 approved.
OLD BUSINESS
The Board discussed and approved a press release for the informal
hearing on the use of the 9-acre Department of Water and Power parcel
next to the San Gabriel River. The hearing is set for March 16, 1978.
The secretary informed the Board that the newspaper recycle center
will be removed from the Safeway Center. The bin has not been paying
for itself, with most loads going to the dump due to water from rain
or fire damage or due to trash. The Board will discuss alternate
recycling methods next meeting.
REPORTS AND COMMUNICATIONS
Mr. Ko1b reported on an article in Western Outdoor News about fishing
in the San Gabriel River. The article gave directions to College
Park West. Mr. Kolb discussed it with the editor. The next issue
will warn against infringing on the neighborhood.
