Chairman Roelofs calls the meeting to order and leads in the Pledge of Allegiance. ROLL CALL PRESENT: ABSENT: ALSO PRESENT: Chairman Roelofs, Members Cunningham, Lindstrom, Singer Pollock Bill Little, Secretary APPROVAL OF MINUTES l-Iotion by Lindstrom, Seconded by Cunningham, to approve the minutes of the March 25, 1971 regualr adjourned meeting. AYES: NOES: Cunningham, Lindstrom, Roelofs, Singer None Motion carries. BOARD ITEMS Secretary introduces Agenda Item V A, consideration of City of Fullerton ordinance restricting the distribution of handbills and other papers on private residential property. Board menmer Cunningham speaks against the ordinance. Discussion follows. ~Iotion by Lindstrom, seconded by Roelofs to receive and file City of Fullerton Ordinance. AYES: NOES: Cunningham, Lindstrom, Roelofs, Singer None ~Iotion carries. Secretary introduces. Item V B, further discussion of the environmental impact of Standard and Humble Oil Company's off-shore oil producing facilities and the approach the Board will take in presenting their findings to the City Council. Chair suggests that Humble Oil Company has not been particularly cooperative and indicates he will draft a letter to the Board of Directors located in Houstin, Texas. Member Cunninghroa addresses question to Standard Oil Representative, seated in the audience, inquiring as to the progress and/or submission of a beautification plan for Island Esther to the City Council. Standard representative indicates that no plan has been submitted. Member Lindstrom comments on correspondence which he received fron the Department of Fish and Game. Eldrin Schowalter, from the floor, wants to know who has jurisdiction of Oil Drilling Islands. ~Iembers Cunningham and Roelofs comment. Dick Bain, 735 Carmel, comments from the floor regarding jurisdictional validity of Boards investigation. - . .... . e . c. (: ~tembers agree to present progress reports at study session to be held Wednesday evening at 7:30 P.M. in Conference Room #28 in City Hall. Secretary introduces Item V C~ consideration of a resolution supporting State Assembly Bill S.B. 660 designed to preserve the California Mountian Lion. Motion by Roelofs~ seconded by Cunningham to adopt Resolution 71-6. AYES: NOES: Cunningham~ Lindstrom~ Roelofs~ Singer None Motion carries. Secretary introduces Item V D~ discussion of fact finding public hearing related to urging City sponsored class action suit. Board indicates it would like the Secretary to contact the Golden Rain Foundation regarding possible public meetings to be held in Leisure World. It is so ordered by the Chair. Secretary intToduces Items V E and V F, follow up discussion of rodent and pest control problems in Seal Beach~ and-discussion of a rabbit problem in Leisure World. Some discussion follows. Board takes no action. WRITTEN CO~~tUNICATIONS All written communications are then unanimously received and filed. ORAL COMHUNICATIONS There are no oral communications from the floor. Member Lindstrom asks why policy of Xeroxing on both sides of paper was discontinued. Chair explains "\'ihy" and then indicates pol icy should be reinstated.
