The Redevelopment Agency of Seal Beach met in regular session
on May 24, 1971 at B:OO p.m. in the Council Chambers, 2111Bth
Street. Seal Beach, Califor.nfa. The meeting was called to order
by Chairman Jay Covington with the Pledge of Allegiance.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
By unanimous vote of the Agency members present, the minutes of
the meeting of May 10 and the adjourned meeting of May 14, 1971,
were approved.

OLD3BUSINESS
Agency members held a general discussion of the Pacific Electric
Right of Way, the proposed use of the area, and progress being made
with the Southern Pacific Land Company; the Executive Director-
Secretary reported his discussions wfth the Southern Pacific Land
Company.
Mr. Barnes requested information as to the Redevelopment Agency's
obligations in participation agreements with R & B and Suburbia.
These were reviewed and it was reported that the largest project
yet to be completed was the First Street extension and the traffic
signal at Ffrst Street and Pacific Coast Hfghway.
NEW) ~SINESS
Agency members ho~!dta general discussion of the boundaries of the
Redevelopment Project Area and zoning of certain parcels fn the
area with the Riverfront Redevelopment Project area.
The preliminary budget was discussed and the polfcy of the
Redevelopment Agency was revfewed in terms of how the budget
reflected the policy.
The Redevelopment Agency agreed with the general approach taken in
the 1971-72 budget.
ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
Chairman Covington requested that the agendas for the Redevelopment
Agency meetings be posted fn those areas where other city items
are posted.
ADJOURNMENT
By unanimous vote of the members of the Redevelopment Agency, the
meeting was adjourned at 9:50 p.m.
