HomeMy WebLinkAboutRDA Min 1976-12-13 12-13-76 34)'/ Seal Beach, California December 13, 1976 The Redevelopment Agency of the City of Seal Beach met in regular adjourned session at 7:30 p.m. with Chairman Holden calling the meeting to order with the Salute to the Flag. I ROLL CALL Present: Chairman Holden Agency Members Blackman, Gray, Kredell, Laszlo Absent: None Also present: Mr. Courtemarche, Executive Director-Secretary Mr. Coughlan, Assistant City Attorney APPROVAL OF MINUTES Blackman moved, second by Laszlo, to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of November 22, 1976 as presented. AYES: NOES: Blackman, Gray, Holden, Kredell, Laszlo None Motion carried AWARD OF BID - MARY WILSON LIBRARY and SENIOR CITIZEN CENTER - PROJ ECT NUMBER 444 ' Bids were received and opened by the City Clerk at 2:00 o'clock p.m., December 8, 1976 for the Mary Wilson Library/Senior Citizen Center as follows: I H. W. Sant Construction Co. K, L. Redfern, Inc. Richard J. McAndrews Near-Cal Corp. Strauss Construction Co. Western Alta Construction Larmor Development Co. $ 545,016.00 573,223.00 588,000.00 589,777.00 591,500.00 607,500.00 631,846.00 The Executive Director presented the staff report and recommended award of bid to the low bidder, H. W. Sant Construction Company. Blackman moved, second by Gray, to award the bid to the low bidder, H. W. Sant Construction Company, for the base bid of $545,016.00, reject all other bids and authorize the City Manager to execute the contract. Further discussion followed regarding the landscaping for the library/senior citizen center. Agency member Kredell stated that he was opposed to the library on the Pacific Electric Right-of- Way. AYES: NOES: Blackman, Gray, Holden Kredell, Laszlo Motion carried ORAL COMMUNICATIONS Chairman Holden declared oral communications open from the audience. Gordon Shanks, 215 Surf Place, spoke in opposition to the library on the P. E. Right-of-Way. There were no other oral communications; Chairman Holden declared oral communications closed.
