The Redevelopment Agency of the City of Seal Beach met in regular
session at 7:48 p.m. with Chairman Weir calling the meeting to order
with the Salute to the Flag.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Kredell moved, second by Weir, to approve the minutes of the regular
meeting of July 24, 1978 as presented.

LIGHTING SYSTEM - MARINA PARK TENNIS COURT and BASKETBALL COURT -
PROJECT NO. 464
Agency Member Gray expressed his opposition to the $11,000 expenditure
for the lighting system for recreational purposes at this time. Agency
Member Laszlo spoke in favor of the project noting the usage of the
tennis facilities In the city. It was clarified that 75% of the
project would be funded by Roberti-Z'berg Open Space and Recreation
Program funds with the remaining 25% or estimated $11,000 matching
city funds from the Redevelopment Agency. The City Engineer explained
the project provided a coin operated lighting system for both the
tennis and basketball courts'and that there would be no additional
cost to the city for their use after installation. Kredell moved,
second by Laszlo, to approve the plans and specifications and
authorize the City Manager to advertise for bids for the Marina Park
Tennis Court and Basketball Court Lighting System.

Director responded to Mr. KredelJ's question, that fifty-three
persons have been relocated from the Trailer Park project to date.
There were no other oral communications; Chairman Weir declared oral
communications closed.

Weir moved, second by Kredell, to adjourn the meeting at 8:03 p.m.
