HomeMy WebLinkAboutRDA Min 1979-10-29 '4:iO 10-2.9-79 The Redevelopment Agency of the City of Seal Beach met in regular adjourned session at 6:45 p.m. with Chairman Gray calling the meeting to order with the Salute to the Flag. ROLL CALL Present: Cha i rman Gray Agency Members Laszlo, Seitz Absen t: Agency Members Kredell, Weir I It was noted that Mr. Kredell and Mr. Weir's absence from the meeting was excused. A 1 so present: Mr. Courtemarche, Executive Director Mr. Coughlan, City Attorney AGREEMENT - PAINE-WEBBER-JACKSON & CURTIS - UNDERWRITING SERVICES - SB 99 BONDS The Executive Director presented the proposed agreement with Paine, Webber, Jackson & Curtis to provide underwriting servides for SB 99 financing and explained that minor technical changes had been made to the agreement, and had been approved as to form and content by Agency's counsel. Seitz moved, second by Laszlo, to approve the Agreement between the Seal Beach Redevelopment Agency and Paine, Webber, Jackson & Curtis to provide underwriting services for SB 99 Mortgage Bonds and authorize the Executive Director to execute the agreement on behalf of the Agency. AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Gray, Laszlo, Seitz None Kredell, Wei r Motion carried ORAL COMMUNICATIONS Chairman Gray declared oral communications open. Mr. Seitz asked when the trailers stored at First Street and Marina Drive would be removed from that area. Chairman Gray stated it was the intent that those trailers be sold as soon as they could be somewhat repaired and cleaned. Chairman Gray reported Seal Beach Associates have contracted for the removal of the eucalyptus and cottonwood trees that have posed safety problems at the Trailer Park. Mr. Austin, Trailer Park resident, complained about a neighboring tool storage shed and the location of utility service islands in the Trailer Park. Mr. Jeffers, #8 Cottonwood Lane, spoke regarding communications to the city requesting a public hearing before the Relocation Appeals Board to discuss proposed rental increases in the Trailer Park. It was clarified that no increased rents have been paid nor have they been considered by the Agency to date. It was also noted that a sixty day notice is required to be provided to Park residents prior to any Increases. Mr. Jeffers also spoke regarding Trailer Park rules and regulations, utility charges and a rental agreement received from Trailer Park management. The Executive Director affirmed that he has responded to all correspondence received from Mr. Jeffers and his attorney. Mr. Scheele, resident of the Trailer Park, spoke regarding the fence installation on First Street and HUD subsidy payments. There were no other oral communications; Chairman Gray declared oral communications closed.
