Chairman Lindstrom called the meeting to order and led the Pledge of Allegiance. ROLL CALL Present: Absent. Also Present: Chairman Lindstrom, Board f'eJllbers Abramson, Cunningha1l', Singer Killough Bill Little, Secretary APPFOVAL OF UINUTES Votion by ~hramson, second by Cunningha~ to approve the minutes of ~arch 23, 1972. AYES' NOES: Abramson, Cunningham, Lindstrom, Singer None l'otion Carried. BOARD ITErtS Chairman Lindstrom introduces Item V A, further discussion of air pollution emissions and programs designed to decrease such emissions from near-by power generating stations. e Doard~emher CunninghaM indicates that KNBC - TV has recently editorialized on the subject of natural gas as opposed to low sulfur oil fuel for generating plants. Cunningham to secure copies for the Board. Chair~an Lindstrom indicates that he TTill prepare a resolution urging support for a program to examine the relationship betveen air pollutaJ"lts and public health. Board~mbers propose additional questions to be forwarded to the Department of Water and Power and Edison Company as follows. 1.) Percentage of budget fo!' research for past two fiscal years? 2.) Chemical breakdown of present fossil fuels and !'esultant emissions? 3.) Percentage of budget for landscaping substations? Chair introduces IteM V D, Resolution 72-2, Urging President to Intercede in El Paso Natural Gas Company's proposed cutbacl<: to Southern Calif. tfotion by CunninghaTII, seconded by Singer to adopt Resolution 72-2. l~otion is unanimously adopted. SECRETARY'S REPORT The secretary reported the progress of staff level environmental. efforts including tit Walt's Wharf problem and pending noise survey.
