The Environmental ouality Control Board of the City of Seal Beach met in regular session in the City Council Chamber. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS Mr. King reported that there was a serious problem in the Bridgeport community. The entrance to the city yard is located at the end of Electric Ave. The heavy equipment used by the City must travel Electric Ave. to get to and from the yard. Much of the traffic is early in the morning. Mr. and Mrs. Schlesser, Mr. and Mrs. Pidancet and Mr. and Mrs. Tindall; residents of Bridgeport reported that the beach tractors l~ave every morning at 4-a.m. and that the street sweepers, trash truck and other vehicles leave at v~ry early hours. Much of the equipment is noisy and heavy. The noise frequently wakes them up and the. vibrations have broken a number of toilets in the neighborhood. They also indicated that the increased traffic in the area was a hazard to the children-in the neighborhood. They said that the developer and City Official had in the past promised to relocate the entrance to First St. when that street was completed. . - -=. - -". 'ii (' (' The Secretary reported that relocating the entrance to the yard had been proposed for this year's budget but had been eliminated to balance .the budget. Mr. King proposed a motion that. 1) A serious environmental problem of noise, vibrations and safety existed on Electric Ave. caused by the location of the entrance to the City Yard, and ~ 2) requested that the City Council amend the budget to provide funds for the construction of a new entrance on First St.. Motion seconded by Knuti. Approved unanimously.
