ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY CONTROL BOARD
THURSDAY, AUGUST 8, 1974
REGULAR MEETING
7:30 P.M.
The Environmental Quality Control Board of the City of Seal Beach met in regular
session in the City Council Chamber. The meeting was opened by Mr. Harrington
leading the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

Mr. Tom King and ~1r. Leo Knuti were introduced to the Board. Each provided
a_ brief autobiography. Mr. King stated that his sol_e_holding in Seal Beach

The Board requested reports on the following subjects:
1. Legal opinion on non-payment of refunds on returnable beverage bottles.

3. Seal Beach involvement in offshore 011 exploration and extraction.
4. Status of paper recycling in Seal Beach.
5. Aircraft traff1c patterns over Seal Beach.

Motion by Smedley, seconded by Knuti, requesting certificates of recognition
for tir. Cunningham and t~r. Killough for their serVlce on the E.Q.C.B. t~otion
unanimously approved.
Elaine Carter, 1011 Ocean Ave., Seal Beach, reported excessive trash in the
vlcwity of lOth St. and Ocean Ave. Secretary reported that the City Engineer
was aware of the sltuation and was preparing corrective measures.

Motion by Khuti, seconded by Smedley, to adjourn the meeting at 8:00 p.m. t10tion
unanimously approved.
