Minutes of July 7, 1977, a~proved as presented.
ELECTIONS
Chairman: Gil Nelsen nominated by Telford, seconded by Kolb. No other
nominations. Mr. Nelsen declared elected.
Vice Chairman: Dr. Telford nominated by Kolb, seconded by DeForest.
No other nominations. Dr. Telford declared elected.
RESOLUTION
The Board discussed the revised resolution. Several typographical errors
were noted. Board also made note of Mr. Watkinson1s letter in opposition
to the resolution since he would be out of the country and unable to vote
against the measure. Motion by Nelsen, second by DeForest to approve
Resoluti'on 77-11. Re$olution unanimously approved by members present.
Board discussed presentation of the resolution to the City Council and
decided that Chai'rman Nelsen would present the resolution at a future
City Council Meeting.
DISCUSSION - GRANT APPLICATION
Mr. Nelsen discussed obtaining a grant from the California Council of
the Humanitie$ in Public Policy. The grant would be to support a city
conference on Histori'c Preservation some time early next yca~. Grant
application would be a joint effort of E.~.C.B. and Seal Beach Historical
Soci'ety. The next two application deadlines are July 31 and October 31.
The Board decided the July 31 could not be met and to try for October 31.
Mr. DeForest asked that the application be on the agenda so that details
can be worked out. Mr. Nelsen indicated that Rockwell has an auditorium
that will be available.

STUDY SESSION - SEAL BEACH TRAILER PARK ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT
The Secretary presented the materials that will be needed to study the
revised E.I.R. for the trailer park redevelopment. Board members
discussed the report and the various materials presented. Board
will study the material for the next study session.
SECRETARY'S REPORT
The Secretary reported that an ordinance prohibiting oversize vehicles
from parking in residential areas was being studied. Also reported
that the glass bin earned less than $90 for the nearly six months
it was in operation.
WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS
Letter from Board Member Watkinson objecting to Resolution 77-11 and
the proposed amendments to Chapter 7B received and filed.
Minutes of the May 25, 1977, Naval Weapons Station Conservation and
Beautification Committee received and filed.
ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
Chairman Nelsen presented the April issue of "Californians for
Preservation Action" newsletter. Motion by Nelsen, second by DeForest,
to sub$cribe to the newsletter unanimously approved.
Chairman Nelsen asked the members to develop a list of items of study
for the next year. Discussion to be on the agenda of the next meeting.
Chairman Nelsen discu~sed rescinding the E.Q.C.B. previous resolution
supporttn9 the LNG terminal in Los Angeles Harbor. A resolution will
be prepared.
